Job Overview:

Our global Client began operations in the late 1970’s and is a leader in the Oil Field/Well Services industry with a strong presence in Canada and growing operations in Russia. When the Company acquired a pressure pumping service business in the southern United States in early 2007, they made a strong entry into the U.S. market.  This move provides a strong platform for future growth by establishing a significant new base of operations from which to expand business to other areas of the U.S., as well as the opportunity to introduce the global Company’s multiple services to the existing customers in the southern U.S.  The Company has decided to expand their southern U.S. presence by adding two (2) Executive Business Development Managers. These experienced sales/BDM positions are newly created and will be individually located in Houston, TX and Tulsa, OK. , reporting directly to the V.P. of Sales & Technology in the Southern U.S. Region, with a dotted line into the President & C.O.O. at Company Headquarters.

Because this successful International Oil Field/Well Services organization is an industry leader with a strong focus on employee and client relationships, these superior BDM Candidates will need to have exceptional business development skills and proven track records specifically in the Oil Field/Well Services industry in prospecting, establishing, building and maintaining client relationships with decision-makers at the highest executive level such as Drilling Managers, VP’s and CEO’s. The next superior Executive BDM’s will be “the best of the best" in their field , rewarded with a generous executive level compensation package, and expected to hit the ground running making an immediate impact on the bottom line by rapidly growing their territory.  It’s highly preferred that the candidates currently, or within the last year, live in their particular territory (Houston or Tulsa) so they have existing and strong industry contacts at the above mentioned executive, decision-making levels.

The outstanding Business Development executives will act as a go-between for customers and Technical Services, as well as spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective sales growth strategies and processes for the Company.  These BDM positions are labeled as “executive" level because they require advanced technical well/pressure pumping knowledge currently working in a high level BD role for 8+ years in the Oil Field/Well Services industry, as well as a consistent, proven track record of meeting or exceeding both personal and company sales’ goals.  
 

Through our firm’s extensive search process, superior Executive BDM candidates will be able to demonstrate  their exceptional value to our Client through proven successes in prospecting, targeting, securing, developing and maintaining Oil Field/Well Services industry client relationships, while successfully supporting and collaborating with inter-company divisions. Along with meeting the requirements mentioned above, the ideal Executive BDM candidates will also meet these specific job responsibilities:

Position Description:  

  • Responsible for establishing, building and maintaining relationships between Company and its clients. 

  •  Executive Sales Representatives act as a go-between for customers and Technical Services gathering client requirements, creating and pricing job offers, scheduling work and following up on completed jobs.

  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective sales growth strategies and processes for Company. 

  • Provide accurate and timely forecast’s using appropriate sales tools and processes, as well as maintain all relevant information about Customers, Prospects, Campaigns and Leads.

  • Provide executive level representation at high-stakes meetings with prospects, clients and technology partners.

  • Interprets client’s requirements, and then suggests Company solutions. Compiles customer requirements for communication to Technical Services.

  • Responsible for the communication of all pertinent data to Technical Services in order to facilitate accurate program design and to ensure that all client requirements will be met.

  • Works closely with field personnel and clients to ensure business is transacted accurately and within pricing guidelines to the highest ethical standards. 

  • Ensures all proposals are programmed properly, and are executed on time. Ensures that the completed job has met or exceeded the original needs of the client.

  • Required to negotiate invoicing problems with clients to a mutually satisfactory resolution to client and Company.

  • Proactively networks to establish new relationships with possible clients calling on executive levels (such as VP’s or Sr. VP’s) at both large, multi-national and independent oil companies. 

  • Remains open minded to finding and creating new business opportunities.

  • Required to travel to entertain clients and representatives to maintain relationships. (Frequency will vary depending on the customer). 

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to comfortably sell and negotiate with customer and potential clients, along with the ability to build relationships at multiple levels.

  • Excellent leadership and consensus building skills.

  • Influencing and change management skills. 

  • Flexible and open minded – Able to recognize opportunities for marketing or business as they develop.

  • Self motivated, able to problem solve and work without direct supervision. 

  • Effective time management skills. 

  • Strong technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, and company policies.

  • Following corporate protocols and policies to maintain, at the very least, company philosophies. 

  • Evaluates and anticipates any challenges/problems that may arise both internally and externally and rapidly provides resolutions for challenges/problems through identification and execution. 

  • Makes sound decisions.   Demonstrates an ability to make decisions on issues within or impacting sales territory within sphere of responsibility; informs management of significant decisions prior to their implementation.
